The first recorded games in 776 BC had only one event: a running race. ✨🎤Later the Greeks added wrestling, boxing, long jump, and chariot racing. ✨🎤During the games, all wars between Greek cities had to stop. ✨🎤This peace was called the Olympic truce. ✨🎤

The ancient games continued for more than a thousand years. ✨🎤In 1896, the modern Olympic Games were born in Athens. ✨🎤Today more than two hundred countries compete — but the idea is still the same: peace through sport. ✨🎤
